AI and Cybersecurity
Could AI really be used as a tool against cybersecurity? Research suggests that AI could have the potential to minimize cybercrimes. We would first have to ensure that AI itself is protected from attacks, so we are not increasing risks.
AI in cybersecurity can be utilized by assisting security professionals in analyzing complex data patterns and predicting potential data attacks before they happen. AI can reduce human error by taking over small repetitive tasks, as human error is the weakest link in cybersecurity. According to ECCU, intelligent agents offer actionable recommendations based on the identified patterns and provide security professionals with guidance on appropriate measures. Lastly, AI in cybersecurity is beneficia in cost cutting as large, expensive equipment or teams of professionals would not be needed. AI can save resources, while increasing protection.
These are probably just a few ways we could benefit from AI in cybersecurity, and as technology evolves, its potential to proactively safeguard data and systems will only grow.
